By the end of the two weeks the trainers and management team were blown away by the hard work, drive and compassion the DurhamGate team had shown and were moved to find the team had bought them flowers and gifts to say thank you for how much they had enjoyed the Induction.

In an exciting development update, The DurhamGate Care Home, a second home for Adore Care Homes which is set to open in November, has reached a significant milestone in its construction journey. The care home, situated in the heart of the prestigious DurhamGate development in County Durham, is designed to provide luxury care and comfort for the elderly, with an emphasis on Health, Happiness, Vitality and Wellbeing.
Luxury Living and Comprehensive Care
The care home’s construction is a pivotal part of the larger DurhamGate scheme, masterminded by Arlington, a prominent developer known for their commitment to creating vibrant and integrated communities. This collaboration aims to create a space where senior residents can enjoy a peaceful and supportive environment while benefiting from a broader community that fosters a sense of belonging.
Maria Booth, the Quality Care Director for Adore Care Homes, expressed her enthusiasm for the project’s progress. “We’re dedicated to setting new standards in elderly care, ensuring that residents receive the utmost attention, respect, and assistance they deserve.”
Luxurious Amenities and Comforting Spaces
Karen Johnson, the General Manager of The DurhamGate Care Home, shared insights into the design and facilities the care home will offer. “We’ve taken a person-centered approach to the design of the care home. With an emphasis on luxury living, our residents will be cherished and well-cared for in fabulous surroundings. We provide nutritious balanced home-cooked meals, a personalised activities programme, including movie nights in our cinema and then there’s always time for cake and a chat in our tea room”.
Amenities that Enhance Quality of Life
The DurhamGate Care Home will feature 66 bedroom suites, with full en suite shower rooms in each, providing residents with comforting and private personal space. The range of amenities is impressive, including a cinema, library, beautifully landscaped gardens, a bar, tea room, garden room, and even a beauty salon. Our En-suite rooms offer a comforting personal space while our airy and spacious communal areas allow our community to come together to enjoy an all-inclusive living.
Anticipating a Bright Future
Accompanying the news update are exclusive pictures that offer a glimpse into the ongoing construction process. Andrew Long (Owner) Maria Booth (Quality Care Director for Adore and the Danforth Care Partners), Karen Johnson (General Manager of The DurhamGate Care Home), and Dean Cook (Managing Director of Arlington) are seen touring the site, discussing the finer details of the care home’s layout and services, highlighting their commitment to ensuring a welcoming environment for its future residents.
As the construction of The DurhamGate Care Home continues, anticipation builds for the final result – a modern and purposefully designed facility that will provide exceptional care and support for the elderly residents. The collaborative efforts of Adore Care Homes and Arlington are set to make a positive impact on the lives of both the care home residents and the larger DurhamGate community.

Rolling Out the Red Carpet: A Regal Entrance to Remember
The Weavers Court team spared no effort in making Maria’s last day at the care home truly special. The entrance was adorned with a regal red carpet, setting the tone for the extraordinary event. As Maria walked in, staff and residents alike presented her with a single rose each, symbolising their well-wishes.
Maria’s Surprise: Overwhelmed by Love and Gestures

Award-Winning Care
Our Weavers Court home has been named in the Top 20 Care Homes in Yorkshire and The Humber, by carehome.co.uk. This was an important win for our new home as it celebrates the work and care that our teams put in to looking after our residents. For our residents, it means that they’re living in one of the best care homes in the region.
It has also shown us that we’re on the right track when it comes to care Adore-style and we were right in what we believed was important to residents and their families. We’ll continue to deliver the highest standards of care, wrapped around with our all-inclusive pricing.
Meet the Team
Our Open Day gives prospective residents and their families the chance to look round our easy-to-navigate home and discover all that we offer for themselves.
All-Inclusive Living
Furthermore, at Weavers Court, it’s important that we make our pricing as transparent as possible and make it easy for our residents to get involved with as much or as little as they want to. We charge one single fee that covers everything, from care, catering and housekeeping to chiropody, physiotherapy, hairdressing and even trips out.

Located in Yeadon, on the outskirts of Leeds and Bradford, Weavers Court care home offers residential, dementia and short-stay respite care in a luxurious setting.
The 2023 Women’s World Cup is taking place in Australia and New Zealand in July and August, with 32 teams vying to be named as the World Cup Winners. With 64 matches to settle down and enjoy, there’s plenty of sporting action to keep residents enthralled.
Spread out across two different countries, the tournament kicked off on July 20, 2023 in Auckland, New Zealand, with the final set to take place on August 20 in Sydney, Australia.
World Cup Action at Weavers Court
At Weavers Court, the Women’s World Cup is about so much more than just watching other people on the box! We’re lucky that we can count on the expertise and footballing knowledge of Sophie Dales to keep our residents moving.
Sophie is from the Leeds United Foundation and spends time every week with our Weavers Court residents to keep them on the move.
Sophie has developed a really exciting challenge to keep our residents engaged and active, inspired by the Women’s World Cup.
Sophie’s World Cup Penalty Shootout Challenge will see a number of care homes that Sophie visits draw a country out of cup and to see how many goals residents can score into a pop-up net. The challenge will run for 4 weeks, from the start of September in the sessions that Sophie runs in the care homes. Every resident that attends will be able to give a goal a go and the totals will get added up at the end of the challenge.
Score To Win
As well as being a lot of fun, each week’s score will be added up to find the total to discover the winning home. Unlike the Women’s World Cup, everyone that takes part will be a winner as residents and staff members will be invited to Leeds United’s home at Elland Road for the winner’s ceremony.
