Activities and trips out for residents living in care homes are an integral part of still feeling part of the community, however, often the most valuable is one that is meaningful to the individual and thus, truly person centred. David, one of our most charming gentleman residents’ at Weavers Court Care Home in Yeadon, was generously escorted and looked after at his granddaughter’s wedding by our very own Maintenance Manager, Phil. Giving up some of his own time this bank holiday, Phil made this possible for David and his family. An overnight stay at Newmarket, many miles from Weavers Court and chaperoned during the wedding day enabled David to enjoy this fantastic family occasion. All of our staff are fully trained in care and our maintenance team are no exception. Well done Phil and congratulation’s David.

By Adore Care Home on Homepage Trio, News, Weavers Court

In an atmosphere of warmth and joy, the Weavers Court care home community came together on August 16th to celebrate a significant milestone in the life of their beloved Care Quality Director, Maria Booth. With just a few weeks left before her wedding day on September 8th, the staff and residents of Weavers Court bid a heartfelt farewell to Maria in a touching send-off.

Rolling Out the Red Carpet: A Regal Entrance to Remember

The Weavers Court team spared no effort in making Maria’s last day at the care home truly special. The entrance was adorned with a regal red carpet, setting the tone for the extraordinary event. As Maria walked in, staff and residents alike presented her with a single rose each, symbolising their well-wishes.

Maria’s Surprise: Overwhelmed by Love and Gestures

“When I pulled up to the home, I noticed the red carpet and thought ‘they must be having a special do.’ Little did I know what awaited me at the door!” Maria exclaimed. “As you will see, I was totally blown away with the wonderful gestures! Then I was treated to a lovely lunch, waited on by Head Chef. Then staff presented me with a gorgeous bouquet and in a card were Euros for our honeymoon. Totally humbled to think people think so much of me.”

The festivities continued as Maria was surprised with heartfelt cards, and thoughtful gifts that underscored the deep bond she shares with the residents and staff. Laughter, tears of joy, and heartfelt conversations filled the air as everyone joined in celebrating Maria’s happiness.
